Authorities have named the driver who died after a collision in Arlington on Monday evening as 18-year-old Jawad Salame from Fort Worth.
The incident took place at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, at the intersection of West Green Oaks Boulevard and Waterview Drive.
Police reported that Salame was driving a BMW 428i heading northbound on West Green Oaks Boulevard when he ran a red light and crashed into a Nissan Pathfinder that was traveling eastbound on Waterview Drive.
After the collision, the BMW hit a light pole in the median and flipped over. Unfortunately, Salame was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was treated at the scene, but no further information about their injuries was released.
At present, there are no additional details about the accident, and the authorities are still investigating.
