Brian Fraser Obituary

A leader, Brian Fraser.

Fraser was well-liked by everyone, from sports teams to religious activities, fraternities to classrooms. And his effect was felt by all who knew him.

His light “shone brilliantly with love, leadership, and charity” in the classroom, in athletics, and within the St. Paul community, the St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church said on Facebook on Tuesday in the late afternoon.

The church highlighted an essay Fraser wrote in eighth grade, which, according to the church, had the following conclusion:

Despite the fact that my friends and I are parting ways, I will always remember them and the times we had at St. Paul.

The church pronounced Fraser to be special. Sadly, he passed away “far too soon.”

A shooter entered Michigan State University’s campus on Monday evening, murdering three students and gravely wounding five more. One of the victims was Fraser, a resident of Grosse Pointe and a sophomore at the institution. Alexandria Verner of Clawson and Arielle Anderson of Harper Woods also perished.

In 2021, Fraser received his high school diploma from Grosse Pointe South. He excelled at baseball, swimming, and diving in addition to lacrosse.

The school’s swimming and diving team said on Facebook, “Brian had an infectious grin and sense of humor that could light up the pool deck and bring amusement to the whole squad.”

He presided over the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at MSU throughout his time in college.

We adored Brian because he served as our leader. He had strong feelings for Michigan State University, Phi Delta Theta, his family, and his Phi Delta brothers. We sincerely lament Brian’s passing and will miss him, the fraternity stated in a statement.
