Arielle Anderson Obituary
Students Brian Fraser of Grosse Pointe and Alexandria Verner of Clawson were two of the three victims of Monday night’s mass shooting at Michigan State University who were named by police on Tuesday.
The third victim was named by family members as Arielle Anderson of Harper Woods on Tuesday.
From her Eastpointe home, where a tiny section of Anderson’s vast family gathered, April Davis, Anderson’s maternal grandmother, described the 19-year-old sophomore as a brilliant, admirable, and modest young woman. She wanted to work as a pediatrician.

She is “extremely family oriented,” according to Davis, and “kind, loving, caring, sympathetic, motivated.” Anderson had an own room at Davis’ house and spent Saturday night with her grandma.
A 19-year-old Michigan State University sophomore named Arielle Anderson during her prom from Grosse Pointe North High School in 2021.
After her daughter phoned to inform her early on Tuesday morning, Davis learned about the incident.
Anderson, a graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School, was a kind aunt to Davis’ special needs kid.
Anderson and I chatted on FaceTime yesterday,” Davis said.
