The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is in grief following the death of one of its officers on Thursday morning near Lake Elsinore while he was traveling from work.

As the deputy’s body was being loaded into a hearse and honored by other first responders, SkyFOX flew over the scene in Riverside County. The authorities named him Deputy Brian Haney.

After serving on the force for six years, Deputy Haney performed patrol in San Juan Capistrano.

I’m appreciative of his service, and I feel for the people that were close to Deputy Haney.

Through their sadness, his young family will require the strong community’s support “In a statement, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley stated.

The Railroad Canyon Road and Grape Street region, which is located before the 15 Freeway, was requested to be avoided by commuters by Menifee municipal officials. Alternative routes are encouraged for motorists.
