On Thursday morning, a multi-vehicle collision on the Palmetto Expressway claimed the life of one man and hospitalized two additional persons.
Florida Highway Patrol officers reported that the collision happened in the Palmetto’s southbound lanes close to Coral Way.
According to authorities, a Honda SUV lost control and hit a barrier wall. After making a right turn, the SUV struck a wall on the right side of the road.
A GMC SUV ran into a Volkswagen sedan that had slowed down to help.
Male adult driver of the GMC passed away there and then. The Honda’s adult female driver was critically injured and transferred to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital.
The Honda’s adult male driver was brought to a nearby hospital, where it was not clear what condition he was in.
The accident is still being looked into.
